In our view:
- We don’t want this.
This project does not supply electricity to us, nor is it Green Energy. Its energy created from coal that is fed from plants in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. This is a major development across our entire area without any compensation to our communities.
- We don’t need it here.
These proposed lines are being built to support data centers for the richest companies in America, like Amazon who can afford to build their own electric generating plants close to these centers such as in Northern Virgina and Frederick County.
- This will disrupt our lives. CT
Our lands and huge numbers of homeowner properties will decrease in value. Any payment made to landowners is a one-time payment and will not address the decrease in property value for future generations.
- This is permanent.
The right of way created for this will be into perpetuity, forever connected to each landowner’s deed. Erection of these massive towers will disturb farming and residential lives forever.
- This removes productive land for farmers forever.
Once gone, prime and productive land never comes back. Farmers need every acre they can get to make a living and to support our communities.
